"Selfie with Marilyn Monroe" by Heidi Seaborn

SIGN (MARILYN MONROE) (1).JPG

Selfie with Marilyn Monroe
— after Diane Seuss

— cucumber slices & ice & a compress
a diaphragm
— Anne Sexton, a cigarette, vodka
— contract & divorce lawyers on speed dial
— ice. did I say ice? lemon peeler
— the roll up stockings I once wore
— a leisurely lap in the swimming pool
— Jimmy Choo shoes
— Ambien & dental floss
— the cliché of a hand mirror
— the garter & the man I wore them for
— do clocks still tick?
gardenia champagne in the fridge, you never know
— this isn’t about her
— anti-aging cream & mascara
— I too have lived on that glittering edge
