Wild & Rose

Mint-green mist, bitter beyond an orange-oval sun
sultry birds skim over the blurred skyline
we are riding higher than blue-gray dusk
stretching hands out, wearing silver bracelets
an early spring tour to an unknown town
we with our little Mazda Miata and Mescal
passing through blue-white signs and unsettled bygones
you take pictures of the little bluetooth speaker
mumbling the melody of a Chinese ballad:
reckless men and women riding on abandoned roads
braveness over-brims the insipid, old-school life
yellow, violet threads, c-cushion on a broken backseat
a, a, a life amid wild winds
ride, ride, ride as daddy reminds
for every try, they start from midnight crooning
watered eyes, lychee lip, and flaming palms
young and reckless with nothing and world-of-all
dying before tomorrow-sun and tomorrow-twinge
diving into toner night and tendering by February breeze
we are, we are, we are
three thousand miles away from the destination
riding, riding, riding with tears above tongues
riding, riding, riding, we are
the shadow of car lights and star river
lying on a dreaming dale
we are riding
riding with
