An inkwell, clay pot, saint’s life
and servant’s sermon; candle wick,
wooden beam, cooking pot
and ladle, laden table — a leather shoe,
ceramic cup, a pillow, glass and bottle;
a blood ruby, burning moss,
a troubled friend,
marigold, an emerald.
